The catalog accompanies the exhibition at the Kunsthalle Jesuitenkirche in Aschaffenburg and brings together roughly 100 works from various phases of work and media. One particular focus is on Man Ray's "Rayographs." Around 1919/20, the artist began experimenting with photograms. In doing so, he positioned everyday objects on photo paper and exposed them to various light sources. The blurred contours of these "photos without a camera" exerted a great appeal on the Dadaists and subsequently the Surrealists. The poet Jean Cocteau thus also described Man Ray as a "poet of the darkroom."00Exhibition: Kunsthalle Jesuitenkirche, Museen der Stadt Aschaffenburg, Germany (03.07. - 24.10.2021). 546 $a Text in German and English. 504 $a Includes bibliographical references. 600 00 $a Man Ray, $d 1890-1976 $v Exhibitions. 600 07 $a Man Ray, $d 1890-1976. $2 fast $0 (OCoLC)fst01427501 650 0 $a Photography, Artistic $y 20th century $v Exhibitions. 650 0 $a Art, American $y 20th century $v Exhibitions. 655 7 $a Exhibition catalogs. $2 fast $0 (OCoLC)fst01424028 655 7 $a Exhibition catalogs. $2 lcgft 655 7 $a Catalogs. $2 lcgft 655 7 $a Illustrated works. $2 lcgft 710 2 $a Kunsthalle Jesuitenkirche (Aschaffenburg, Germany), $e host institution. 700 1 $a Ladleif, Christiane, $e editor. 700 1 $a Levy, Thomas, $d 1947- $e editor. 700 1 $a Gardner, Belinda Grace, $d 1960- $e writer of supplementary textual content. 700 1 $a Siemens, Jochen, $d 1948- $e writer of supplementary textual content. 700 0 $a Man Ray, $d 1890-1976, $e artist. 830 0 $a Kerber art. 941 $a 1 952 $l OVUX522 $d 20231117025423.0 956 $a http://locator.silo.lib.ia.us/search.cgi?index_0=id&term_0=C6284340A5B811ECBC4A196C2DECA4DBInitiate Another SILO Locator Search
