Summary:
Diego is a matador unable to practice his craft after being badly gored. Maria is a successful Madrid lawyer. Diego teaches bullfighting to Angel, who wants to bullfight so he can die an exciting death and escape his strict, guilt-inducing Catholic mother. Angel has confessed to a string of recent murders--which he assumes he must be responsible for--having seen them happen in a series of hallucinatory visions, and Maria is defending him. Thanks to Angel, Diego and Maria finally meet. They might have gone through life forever unfulfilled were it not for him -- now they have each found someone with whom to share the ultimate pleasure. All that remains for them is the execution of their Liebestod.
