Summary:
To keep from being split up, the recently orphaned Bankston children ask a homeless man, Joe, to pose as their grandfather. When Joe take the job more seriously than they expected and tries to bring order to their lives, the children rebel. They all must learn what it takes to make a real family or they'll soon be separated.
