Invisibilising Austrian German : on the effect of linguistic prescriptions and educational reforms on writing practices in 18th-century Austria / Anna D. Havinga.
The influence of grammarians on the standardisation of German has been a popular topic of linguistic study in recent years. How their language norms were actually implemented in language use has, however, remained unclear. This book focuses on the role of education in order to provide an insight into norm implementation in eighteenth-century Austria, particularly highlighting processes of stigmatization and invisibilisation.
