Summary:
Twenty years of history of street graffiti, mainly stencil, in the Colombian capital, carried out by the Bogotá Street Art collective, a platform for the registration, dissemination and archive of urban art in Bogotá, with the image as a social expression, which is made up of DJLu/Juegasiempre, Erre, Lesivo and Toxicómano. A group of artists who have been writing the walls of Bogota with their messages: they are four of the most outstanding graffiti artists who, through their works, have filled the city with social and political "artivism". Divided into five chapters, time, speed, pressure, adaptation and distance, the publication aims to "clean up certain prejudices and energetically stir consciences." The Bogota graffiti collected in this book are escape valves to refresh the environment, reduce the existing pressure and respond to exclusion, social control and stigmatization exercised by the political, economic and media powers. They are a "release of thoughts, criticisms and accusations". The book includes images from the photographic archive of the group plus some of La Jaxx and Meteorito that account for the "fast, dissonant, effective and difficult to remove actions" that have meant the graffiti expressions in Bogotá and that serve to build the memory of a city that is "no man's land". Includes texts by Stinkfish, Javier Moyano, Olivier Dabéne, Erre and Kristal Bivona.
