Originally broadcast on television from 1959-1963. Based on characters created by Max Shulman, this CBS comedy aired from 1959 to 1963. Dwayne Hickman starred as typical teenager Dobie, a grocer's son who continually sought the attention of the opposite sex. Bob Denver was Dobie's beatnik sidekick Maynard G. Krebs, and first-season regulars included Tuesday Weld as gorgeous classmate Thalia Menninger and Warren Beatty as wealthy rival Milton Armitage. This is Volume One: The series debut has Dobie plotting a "Caper at the Bijou" to earn cash for his date with Thalia. Then, Thalia must decide who "The Best Dressed Man" is when Dobie and Milton compete for her attention. Mel Blanc guest stars.
