Living--beyond a positive test : a guide for caregivers on home based care and counseling for persons living with HIV-AIDS / Ukweli Video Productions presents ; executive producer, Maryknoll Society ; idea-concept, Richard Quinn ; director-producer, Sheila Mulinya.
Narration: Sheila Mulinya. "HIV/AIDS is a disease that affects the human body so severely that the patient needs to undergo clinical care for long period of time. However, expenses incurred by the family for medical management among others have proved to be too expensive. Patients in hospital wards also get exposed to other non-HIV related infectious diseases. This has led to Home Based Care which is not only cheaper but allows the patient more time and direct contact with the immediate family members. With Love, Compassion, proper Psychosocial and Spiritual care, HIV patients are known to live full, longer and happy lives. We strongly recommend that this video be shown in 2 different sessions starting with part 1 that consists of Introduction and background on HIV-AIDS and Home Based Care followed by Part 11 on HIV/AIDS counselling. This video targets persons living with HIV/AIDS on Home Based Care and offers caregivers tips on Diet, Exercise, Medication, Spiritual and Counseling support.."--Container.
