Summary:
A man who is sentenced to life in prison on Devil's Island is joined, after seven years, by his devoted girl friend. After getting married they have a son who eventully grows up to be a surgeon, but by then the father is dead. Later, the son falls in love with a young female convict, but after he performs a special surgery on a deranged man he and his mother are pardoned and return to France. Meanwhile, an unscrupulous warden tries to take the young woman left behind for himself, but the efforts by the surgeon and his mother to free her pay off just in time.
