"A Short Note. The paper on which this extract is reprinted was made at the end of the eighteenth century by John Buttanshaw at Hampton's Mill West Peckham in Kent. The paper came from and account book which had probably been made from crown sized sheets. The sheets had all been ruled with red margins before being bound. Each sheet carries two watermarks, one saying J Buttanshaw and the other GR under a 'fleur de lys'. These marks were used by the mill between 1794 and 1798."--P.[1]. Two versions of the same pamphlet "To marble the edges of books or paper" enclosed in an envelope made of the same paper. One of the pamphlets bears the watermark "J Buttanshaw" the other bears the watermark of "GR" under a fleur de lys.
