Summary:
Though it aired for only one season as part of THE SUPER MARIO BROS. SHOW, the classic 1980s cartoon series THE LEGEND OF ZELDA remains a nostalgic highlight of Reagan-era animation. Based on the popular Nintendo video game of the same name, the syndicated series follows the superhero adventures of a young swordsman named Link as he fights to protect the beautiful Princess Zelda (named by game creator, Shigeru Miyamoto, for writer F. Scott Fitzgerald's famous wife) from the evil clutches of the wizard Ganon in the magical kingdom of Hyrule. Deviating from its video-game source material by injecting comedy and romance into the action/fantasy/sci-fi mix, the animated series is presented in its entirety with this 13-episode collection.
