Summary:
The Xingu Park, created in 1961, when Mato Grosso was still a large forest, excluded the Xingu River headwaters and all its tributaries. Forty years later, the effects of occupation and deforestation outside the park reveal the amazing environmental fragility of this oasis. The ATIX - Xingu Indigenous Land Association, in partnership with IBAMA and the ISA--Environmental Institute, try to control the use of its surroundings in an attempt to save the park and ensure the survival of its inhabitants.
