Summary:
The viceregal era was a textual seedbed in which different types of discourse would soon germinate. This book brings together a set of works that deal with different textual varieties. Along with each of the speeches, it is perceived, through a historical context, how New Spain society is integrated into a new social order. In this scenario the styles bifurcate, on the one hand the European and, on the other, the 'readapted' style, that is, the American. Through these writings, different models of thought and different ways of conceiving the world become evident that come together between the same individuals that make up a linguistic community, the individual with himself and, no less important, the relationship with the other. Thus, in the narratives, descriptions, desires and feelings that the different senders construct so that their receiver perceives it in their imagination, we are given knowledge of the sociocultural aspects.Just as the text that is framed within communicative spheres or spaces gains great merit, the context is the anchor that directly or indirectly influences understanding the different facts that make up part of the social environment. Hence, to know a community or a historical period, we must not only take into account the oral or written production, but it is important to establish a relationship with the context, 'its context', and this implies assuming as transcendental factors the psychological, social, political, religious and cultural issues in which they occur. The works that make up this volume are set in a time period, in several viceregal societies and cover different types of discourse.
