Summary:
"Sudan's Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a government force under the command of the National Intelligence and Security Services, have led two counterinsurgency campaigns in the long-embattled region of Darfur in 2014 and 2015. The RSF and other Sudanese government forces have committed numerous serious violations of international human rights and humanitarian law against civilians, including torture, extrajudicial killings and mass rapes. [This report] is based on research conducted between October 2014 and July 2015. ... Human Rights Watch calls on the United Nations Security Council, the African Union Peace and Security Council, and the African Union-United Nations Mission in Darafur, UN-AMID, to take concrete steps to protect civilians in Darfur from further abuse."--Page [4] of cover.
