This collection of writings from the period 1918-1919 represents the contents of a simple brown box, a manila envelope, and a notebook of typescripts of letters saved by Lillian M. Mattison from those sent home by her brother, Ray Henry Mattison, before and after the Armistice ending the hostilities of the Great War. Originally in a simple narrative form, the writings have been edited into a form of a rhythmic blank verse.
