After his wife is killed, Lew Fonesca flees Chicago and lands in Sarasota, Florida. He barely makes a living as a process server and savors his clinical depression. Lew's therapist tells him he needs to go back to Chicago and close the door to the past so he can get on with the rest of his life. Lew finally admits she is right and returns to his hometown to face his grief and confront a murderer.
