A Helsinki-based visual artist and researcher of Swiss and Haitian heritage, Huber's creative practice encompasses performance, photography, film, mixed media, reparative interventions, and collaborations to investigate colonial residues left in the environment. Her projects conceive of natural spaces' mountains, lakes, glaciers, forests, and craters' as contested territories, highlighting the ways in which history is imprinted onto the landscape through acts of remembrance, including memorialization through naming and the erection of monuments. For over a decade, Huber has produced work in relation to the cultural and political Demounting Louis Agassiz campaign, which seeks to redress the racist legacy of the Swiss-born naturalist and glaciologist. With her artworks, Huber challenges the terms by which we remember, asking not only who and what we memorialize, but also, and more importantly, how we do so. 600 10 $a Huber, Sasha $v Exhibitions. 600 16 $a Huber, Sasha $v Expositions. 650 0 $a Art, Modern $x Political aspects $v Exhibitions. 650 0 $a Art $y 21st century $x Political aspects $v Exhibitions. 650 0 $a Black people in art $v Exhibitions. 650 0 $a Race in art $v Exhibitions. 650 0 $a Landscapes in art $v Exhibitions. 650 0 $a Portrait painting $v Exhibitions. 650 6 $a Personnes noires dans l'art $v Expositions. 650 6 $a Race dans l'art $v Expositions. 650 6 $a Paysages dans l'art $v Expositions. 650 6 $a Peinture de portraits $v Expositions. 655 7 $a exhibition catalogs. $2 aat 655 7 $a Exhibition catalogs $2 fast 655 7 $a Exhibition catalogs. $2 lcgft 655 7 $a Catalogues d'exposition. $2 rvmgf 700 1 $a Sealy, Mark, $e editor. 700 1 $a Verna, GaeÂtane, $e editor. 700 12 $i Container of (work): $a Huber, Sasha. $t Works. $k Selections. 710 2 $a Power Plant (Art gallery), $e host institution. $e host institution. 941 $a 2 952 $l USUX851 $d 20240502013709.0 952 $l OVUX522 $d 20240320011006.0 956 $a http://locator.silo.lib.ia.us/search.cgi?index_0=id&term_0=375F42DAE67F11EE94C7D61345ECA4DBInitiate Another SILO Locator Search
