In addition, I wanted to show how these spices appeal to the five senses in a book that have a unique touch and smell. I use different spices, and herbs such as: black pepper, clover, cardamom, coriander, anise, and hibiscus. Each spice reminds me of a memory: my mother's cooking, walking through the old streets of Cairo, drinking herbal tea in cold winters and sharing food with family and friends. I document these experiences and give the audience the opportunity to reflect on their own experiences when viewers see, touch, and smell the pages of the book."--Artist's statement. 650 0 $a Artists' books $v Specimens. 650 0 $a Miniature books $v Specimens. 650 0 $a Scented books $v Specimens. 655 7 $a Accordion fold format (Binding) $2 rbbin 655 7 $a Spices. $2 local 856 42 $3 Artist's website $u http://islamaly.com 941 $a 1 952 $l OVUX522 $d 20220817010944.0 956 $a http://locator.silo.lib.ia.us/search.cgi?index_0=id&term_0=F02D12861DF111EDA8BEF4A423ECA4DBInitiate Another SILO Locator Search
