Summary:
The marzipan pig: a marzipan pig, lost behind a sofa and eaten by a mouse, starts a chain of events involving the feelings of the mouse, a grandfather clock, an owl, a bee, a flower, and another mouse who in her turn discovers another marzipan pig to eat. Jazztime tale: set in 1919 Harlem, two girls - one white, one black - form a lifelong friendship through a chance encounter, and the music of a young Fats Waller.
