Summary:
Set during the ever-sunny 1950s, this is the story of the indestructible Larkin family, headed by Sidney "Pop" Larkin, a dreamer and a schemer who has managed to avoid paying taxes throughout his working life. That slippery talent has made him a legend with the locals who knowingly chuckle at the useless attempts continually made by tax officials and unwitting business associates to discover exactly how Larkin makes his money. The clan leads an idyllic, if flamboyant, life in the English countryside, colored by the flirtatious ways of beautiful daughter Mariette, Pop Larkin's never-ending supply of ill-fated entrepreneurial adventures, and the fierce devotion of each family member to one another through good times and bad.
