A music-loving patriarch and his three daughters, all single and more than romantically inclined, encounter an affable if cynical composer whom the father has hired to do arrangements for a Broadway musical. All three daughters fall for the young man--but which, if any, will he choose? Crowded romance aside, there's still room for superlative songs by Cole Porter, George & Ira Gershwin, Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer
