Summary:
A collection of avant garde and experimental short films made between 1928 and 1934. Un Chien Andalou consists of seventeen minutes of bizarre and surreal images that may or may not mean anything; Regen, English title Rain, explores the poetry of everyday existence as represented by an Amsterdam rainfall; Polizeibericht Überfall (The Accident) is a morality play about a small time con artist on the German streets; Hearts of Age, Welles' first film, is a takeoff on surrealism; Ballet mécanique is fascinating for its use of montage and eye-line match and its experiment with different rhythms and images.
