Summary:
The Virginian (Cooper) is the foreman of a Wyoming ranch. He gives a job to Steve (Arlen), an old friend, and they vie for the affections of the local schoolmistress Molly Wood (Brian). The Virginian wins out and Steve goes bad, taking up with the local villain Trampas (Huston) rustling cattle. When Steve is caught, the Virginian oversees the lynching. This turns Molly against him, but when he is wounded in a shootout, she agrees to marry him. On the wedding day, Trampas turns up for a showdown with the Virginian, but the Virginian outdraws him. This was the third film of the popular novel and Gary Cooper's first all-talking picture.
