Summary:
Ron Vawter performs two linked monologues contrasting how two prominent men dealt with their homosexuality: the first, a portrayal of a classic after-dinner speech for the Society for the Protection of the American Family by Roy Cohn, McCarthy-era prosecutor; the second is Vawter's remounting of avant-garde filmmaker Jack Smith's own "performance-of-the self," entitled "What's underground about marshmallows?", originally performed by Smith in 1981.
