Summary:
In the first program, Wendell Johnson gives an overview of the problem of stuttering, interviews three students enrolled at the speech clinic at the University of Iowa, describes some of the techniques and treatments available, and discusses the role of parents in helping. In the second program, Dr. Glenn Hawkes addresses, in a broad sense, viewer concerns about children including the effects of polio, cerebral palsy, stuttering and speech disorders, thumb sucking, bed-wetting, shyness and TV. He outlines several resources for help.
