This revisionist history explores the development of the U.S. Interstate Highway System in the context of public policy outcomes. The decisions by politicians during the 1950's - 1970's are examined against the back-drop of financial sustainability, impact on urban America, as well as impacts on energy policy, the railroad and barge industries, and on public safety.
