In 1759, Catherine Bradshaw travels from London to the colony of New York to marry Jeremy Flint, a man she barely knows but already fears. But shortly after the wedding ceremony, Catherine is abducted by French Army captain Rive St. Clair, a man who wants revenge on Flint for his role in a massacre at an Indian village sixteen years ago. As they journey through the wilderness toward Quebec City, a powerful attraction develops between Catherine and Rive, but will the fall of the French stronghold mean the end of their passion?
