Summary:
A taciturn young man who seeks solitude in the wilderness of the moors becomes a prime suspect in a series of murders; a rich woman who marries a man ten years her junior begins to suspect her new husband after her best friend disappears; after a young woman visits her reclusive neighbor and finds him hacked to death, she becomes a target for the murderer; identical twins compete for the affection of the same man.
