In an attempt to slow the spread, many countries closed their borders, schools, and businesses. They instituted lockdowns and ordered citizens to stay at home except for emergencies, which often lasted for weeks or months. In countries worldwide, people have struggled during the pandemic with their feelings and mental health. Isolation, loss of income, grief, and fear are contributing to mental health conditions or worsening existing ones.
