Summary:
A father and his young son take a road trip following the Oregon National Historical Trail to discover America and spend time together. Along the way, they meet many people that help them learn about the people that crossed the trail, including many that died. The author reflects on how to share some of these gruesome details with his son and the challenges of parenting. Henry's illustrations at the beginning of each chapter help provide a child's view of the trip.
