New Earth is a heart-rending exploration of the human condition set in a plausible dystopian future. The year is 1015 N.E. Over a thousand years have passed since five hundred young adults awoke from cryogenic slumber--250 million years after the rest of humanity perished in a devastating atomic war. Horrified upon the realization that they were the last humans on Earth, this group of people vowed to create a New Era in which history would never repeat itself. Only, things did not go as planned. Nima Thapa, a teenage citizen of the Silver Kingdom, is kidnapped while wandering in a dark forest at night. Her kidnapper, 15-year-old Kyro Hadrian Cato, is completing a dangerous rite of passage in his quest to become a warrior. Both teens share one striking similarity: they are magis, human beings gifted with radiation-induced supernatural abilities. However, their magical status holds different implications for both of them, and when their stories eventually intertwine, they begin to wonder if they've been lied to their entire lives.
