Teenager Shannon is devastated when her beloved father dies. She thinks she is an orphan until her father's best friend and her doctor tell her that the mother she thought died in childbirth is really still alive. As Shannon and her mother struggle with their new relationship, Shannon bonds with a young horse and befriends a trainer. The trainer starts working magic with the the young horse and Shannon and prepares them for a big race. But when a egotistical horse owner buys the horse and abuses it, she is faced with the biggest battle of her life. Can Shannon heal her crushed spirit and rescue the horse in time?
