Summary:
"Playwright Suzan-Lori Parks discusses her play 'Topdog/underdog.' She suggests that she doesn’t write plays like the Pulitzer-winning Topdog/Underdog to force a message down audience throats, but instead to give voice to characters who tap her shoulder ... Playwright Edward Albee, and actors Mercedes Ruehl, and Bill Pullman discuss their play 'The goat.' Albee says he was looking for a subject that audiences would not readily accept in his new play. Ruehl and Pullman are intrigued with the diverse and often contradictory audience response to the play ... Actors Kate Burton and Billy Crudup discuss their play 'The elephant man.' They discuss the play's dramatic merits, but concede that the show may close soon, despite its Tony nominations"--Publisher web page.
