Summary:
Ossie Davis, actor and playwright, discusses dramatic character's lives free of their creator. A short discussion of a marionette theatre in Salzburg and a discussion of convention and style precedes scenes from Pirandello's work in which six characters from a play assume lives of their own, disrupting the rehearsal of another play.
