Summary:
Admiral Kirk resumes command of the Starship Enterprise to stop a destructive alien; the Enterprise is attacked while on a training mission; Kirk steals the Enterprise to recover Spock's body; the crew travels back in time to save Earth with the help of humpback whales; Kirk must negotiate a kidnapping situation with Spock's half-brother, who is obsessed with finding the source of all life; the Enterprise crew must salvage a peace treaty between the Federation and the Klingons.
