Sharp collected these songs in the early 20th century, and first published many of them in 1917. The complete collection under this title was published in 1932. This is a reprint of the 1952 second impression of Oxford University Press. This volume contains 72 ballads, including melodies and lyrics. With preface, introduction to the 1917 edition, and notes on the songs. Includes bibliographical references and index.
