Summary:
Demonstrates one way of introducing books to children while teaching a "bug" theme. Marlene McCracken reads The longest journey and later the children write their own versions. Children develop comprehension and appreciation of story structure through this lesson. Techniques shown in this program include: brainstorming for ideas, creating word banks, using pictures and text to interpret a story, developing memory and developing a sense of sequence.
