Music for an archduke : selections from the manuscript Regensberg, Bischöfliche Zentralbibliothek, MS. a.r. 775-777 / edited by Douglas Kirk, David Klausner and Daniel Stillman.
As set of 47 pieces taken from the Regensberg partbooks, which date from the late 16th century. As most of the pieces do not have texts, they were probably copied with an instrumental ensemble in mind. The partbooks were made in Graz duing the rule of Archduke Karl II of Inner Austria. This edition includes commentary and notes, and an appendix of transposed parts for five of the pieces. Accompanying flashdrive comprises a full score, underlaid Latin texts when known, English translations, and further commentary.
