Originally for alto trombone and orchestra; arranged for alto trombone and piano. Commissioned by and dedicated to Ronald Barron and premiered at the ITA Convention in Ithaca, N.Y.; the music was inspired by an area of coastal South Carolina where Barron had once lived.
