Jebro is a small boy who lives on a small island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. He looks forward to the day when he will have his very own outrigger canoe and race against his brothers to see who will be the fastest. But when that day finally arrives he is faced with a decision that could guarantee him losing the race. How he decides will not only affect the outcome of the race but also the future of his island people. Jebro and the Canoe Race is one of the many legends that Marshallese parents have told to their children for generations. The Marshall Islands is a small island nation located approximately 2000 miles west of Hawaii and 7 degrees north of the equator.
