El doctor Arturo Goicoechea es un reconocido neurólogo, pionero en España en la investigación de los llamados «síntomas sin explicación médica» y en neurobiología del dolor. El autor propone, de manera directa, divulgativa y esperanzadora, la desmitificación de creencias erróneas sobre la enfermedad como herramienta terapéutica esencial, apostando decididamente por el modelo pedagógico como instrumento para enfrentarnos a los síntomas sin patología orgánica, ofreciendo los conocimientos y las herramientas para aliviar el dolor de los pacientes en la batalla de la recuperación, y brindando, además, la información necesaria sobre el origen de las dolencias en términos neuronales, con la finalidad de desaprender conductas y reprogramar las respuestas del cerebro. Con la divulgación de estos conocimientos, la pedagogía del dolor pretende superar doctrinas y teorías que contribuyen a potenciar y cronificar el papel del dolor en nuestras vidas. The author proposes, in a direct, informative and hopeful way, the demystification of erroneous beliefs about the disease as an essential therapeutic tool, decisively betting on the pedagogical model as an instrument to confront the symptoms without organic pathology, offering the knowledge and tools to alleviate the pain of patients in the battle of recovery, and also providing the necessary information about the origin of the ailments in neuronal terms, with the aim of unlearning behaviors and reprogramming the brain's responses.
