Summary:
"The WAVMA Aquatic Veterinarian Certification (CertAqV) Program identifies the core competency or subject matter areas needed to practice aquatic veterinary medicine (including mammals, amphibians, fish and invertebrates), and recognises those veterinarians who have acquired the necessary knowledge, skills and experience (KSE) from a variety of sources, in the 9 core subject matter areas as outlined in the table of contents. Aquatic Veterinary Medicine will be mapped against the WAVMA CertAqV curriculum. All three authors are WAVMA certified and are involved with the organisation and are also Past-Presidents. Contributors will also be WAVMA certified and involved in someway with the organisation so this will add to the credibility of the book. It also focuses on day one competencies as outlined by the OIE (World Organisation for Animal Health) -- these recommendations on the competencies have been developed to provide the minimum competencies required by graduating veterinarians to assure the highest quality of National Veterinary Services"-- Provided by publisher.
