Summary:
How a retired middle school math teacher set out to discover the story of her enslaved ancestor. As a result of research techniques honed as a teacher, she created new ways to resurrect her ancestor's life using data from her family tree and DNA matches. Not only did she unearth a ton of information on African American history, but she designed a set of specific materials to help others get started and keep track of their findings.
