Originally , this volume was conceived as a sort of "Profiles in Courage" wherein we would feature conservatives and Republicans who proudly stepped up and out in opposition, and who maintained their criticism, their defense of principles they hold dear, even after Trump secured the nomination and won the presidency. It soon became clear that such a volume would be too simplistic, overly black and white while, in fact, this story is in gray-scale. Most of the those who we might consider original #NeverTrumpers have morphed into what we might call #EventualTrumpers, or perhaps #OccasionalTrumpers. The story of intra-party and conservative opposition to Donald Trump is clearly more nuanced. This volume explores its evolution rather than glorifies its membership.
