Summary:
In Baltimore, 1966 is a time of change: social, political, and personal. Madeline 'Maddie' Schwartz has left her marriage of almost twenty years and is working at a Baltimore newspaper. She becomes obsessed with the murder of Cleo Sherwood, an African American woman whose body was found in a city park lake. Although the paper has little interest in the crime and racial tensions are high, Maddie is determined to solve the murder and make a name for herself.
