"El caso Padilla". Includes bibliographical references.
Summary:
The Casa de las Américas was at the center of the hurricane unleashed around the arrest, on March 20, 1971, of the poet Heberto Padilla and his "self-criticism", carried out after being released from prison on April 27, at the Uneac headquarters , before an audience of writers who are members of the organization. In that year, multiple articles, statements, responses and counter-responses on the "case" were published in successive issues of the institution's magazine. Fifty years after those events, we published an extensive compilation of materials that seek to offer little-known assessments and points of view that totally or partially contradict some of the stereotypes that have circulated and continue to circulate about the so-called "Padilla case."--Back cover.
