A league of their own : In 1943, Jimmy Dugan, a washed-up ballplayer whose big league days are over, is hired to coach in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League while the male pros are serving in WWII. Reluctant at first, he finds himself drawn back into the game by the heart and heroics of his team. Based on the true story of the pioneering women who blazed the trail in the 1940s for future generations of famale athletes.
