Summary:
The snake clan of the Hopi were regarded as even more dangerous than the Apache to those who knew them. Several white women near Fort Defiance have gone missing and their trail led straight to Hopi territory, with no trace of the captives to be found. Now the warriors have stolen another young lady for their sacred Snake Dance. Her only hope of rescue is a Navajo scout names Silver Hat, who speaks four languages and is the best tracker around. Even if he can find her, he still must survive a tribe of brutal killers to bring her home alive.
