A reference guide presents difficult words in American English. One of the problems people often have with the English language is that many words sound similar (or even exactly the same) and yet have very different meanings. For instance, the meanings of the words brews and bruise are essentially indistinguishable out of context. For those new to English, differentiating between some words can also be a challenge. Words ending in an S are one such hurdle. Did the speaker just say scarce or scares? Where does one look for help? This "Dictionary Aid" is meant to assist readers in such sticky linguistic situations. The book is organized alphabetically, with problematic words (even if they start with a different letter) listed in proximity.
