Daughter Reassembled explores the adoption experience, both personally for Pam Cates as she is compelled to search for her biological family, and on a more global basis as she talks about the issues of adoption searches in the wake of DNA testing. Pam shares the successes and failures of her search, as well as the feelings and emotions accompanying reunion with newly-discovered family. "it wasn't an easy journey, but one I wouldn't trade for anything," says Cates. In the midst of the search, Cates experienced the greatest loss of her life, her husband of thirty-two years, Mitch. Knowing he would want her to continue to live life and go on with her dreams, she found strength in loss.
