Full and verse anthems, devotional songs and a setting each of the Te Deum and Jubilate; for full choir or 1-8 solo voices. The 1st anthem was composed for the coronation of James II in 1685. For the Music for the funeral of Queen Mary, the March and canzona are the only items which can be ascribed with any certainty to the occasion of Queen Mary's funeral; the other choral pieces are two verse anthems (Thou know'st, Lord : 2 settings) and two full anthems (In the midst of life; Man that is born of a woman), all known to have been composed before 1682 or 1683. Words in booklet inserted in container. Mark Kennedy, Eamonn O'Dwyer, James Goodman, trebles; Susan Gritton, soprano; James Bowman, Nigel Short, countertenors; Rogers Covey-Crump, high tenor; Charles Daniels, Mark Milhofer, tenors; Michael George, Robert Evans, basses; Choir of the King's Consort; Choir of New College, Oxford; Members of the Guild of Ancient Fifes and Drums; King's Consort; Robert King, conductor.
